When starting out in yoga its important to build a good
routine. This is important because you wont experience
the same quality of results if your routine is not
designed well.
It's also important because a good routine is easier to
stick to, which may be a bit difficult for some people at
first.
The key aspects of a good yoga routine are standard
to some degree, but also will vary from person to person,
depending on what areas of their bodies may need more
attention.
For example, a person with a good deal of back pain may
want to spend a little more of their routine on
postures and poses that will alleviate the back pain,
where a person with breathing difficulty may want to
concentrate more on whats best for their lung capacity.
Since yoga is intended to be a complete mind and body
wellness experience it would be in your best interest to
include postures that will address every aspect of the
experience, if possible.
This will provide for getting the very most benefit from
yoga. It will also give you a good, solid foundation to
build future yogo routines on.
Another factor you'll want to take into consideration
when building a yoga routine is what your ultimate goal
with yoga is. Whether you're trying to relax and relieve
stress, build more muscle, lose weight, or any other
goal, youll need to find the right postures for your goal.
You may want to do some research on the many
different yoga postures and poses to find which ones
will benefit you the most.
Yoga routines can be altered over time to meet your
changing needs and goals.
The routine you develop to start does not have to be
the routine you keep for life. You can change your
routine to incorporate more poses for strength or
flexibility, for example.
One good way to build up a routine is to use Yoga audios
or DVDs.

If you're a woman and become pregnant you can alter your
routine to meet your prenatal needs. If you're
experiencing more stress in your life you can add
poses to help you relax more.

Whatever your needs, your yoga routine can be tweaked
to accommodate them.
